I'm going to Bali — and this episode is releasing the day we fly out. I wanted you right at the beginning with me!
I recorded this just a few days before leaving, and this isn't a travel tips episode. It's a soul-level send-off. I'm sharing my spiritual intentions for the journey, what the astrology is indicating for this specific trip, and something called astrocartography — the astrology of places — and what it's pointing to for both me and my travel companion for this specific location.
I'll walk you through the four areas we're moving through on the island, what the energy of each one feels like, and what we might experience in each. Plus I'm sharing the tools so you can look up your own astrocartography for your upcoming travel or even just where you live right now — it's one of those things you won't be able to unsee.
And I'll leave you with a little something to sit with while I'm away.
The full recap is coming when we get back. But first — come with me to the beginning.

This podcast is like a seat at the table in a secret club, but with mediums, mystics, and the spiritual luminaries of our time, so come behind the velvet ropes with me, and see inside my world as I chat insider style with profoundly gifted souls. We go deep, share juicy stories, laugh a lot, and it wouldn't be a speakeasy without great insider secrets and tips. You might even learn that you have some gifts of your own, so step inside the Spirit Speakeasy. Hey, beautiful soul, welcome in for another episode of Spirit Speakeasy. Today is honestly one I have really been looking forward to recording for a while. This is our Bali send-off episode. It's funny, I've mentioned that I was going to record this episode several times, and even when the inspiration struck me, "Oh, you should record an episode as the trip comes, I was like, "Oh, that's interesting, I wonder what that episode's going to be about. So today I am bringing you in at the very beginning of this adventure. Before we go, I'm recording this just a couple days before I leave, and in this episode I'll remind you how the trip came together. I'll share my intentions for this trip, what I'm already spiritually aware of for the journey, including some personal energetic guidance and some of the astrological, I don't know, reading or guidance about the trip, plus something called Astrocartography that we did for this trip. I'm going to share about and how you can do that for yourself, for your own trips or day-to-days over the summer, for both me and my travel companion. We're going to talk about this, and we're going to go through the four areas that we're moving through on the island of Bali, and what the energy of each one feels like, then we'll dive into this astro cartography, what it is, what it's indicating for both of us in this specific location, you know, in this time period, and how you can explore again for yourself, your own travels, your day to day, and I'll close out with something I want to leave you thinking about while I'm away, and I will leave some links in the show notes to those tools that I'm going to mention when we talk about the astrology. It's really interesting, like I was saying, for those of you that have been here a while, you might remember the episode not long ago that I talked about who I was living into next, and that little kind of nudge or kick in the pants from my intuition that said, well, you can only call yourself a traveler if you're actually traveling. You guys know I do a lot of self evaluation, and I'm always available to look at who I am right now and who I want to become next, who I'm living into. And this all ties into that. I will definitely link that episode for you, in case you missed it. You won't need it to get this episode. I'm like, you'll still get what we're talking about today, but if you want more of the background and want it to be a little juicier, that is the one to check out. So, really, that episode is when I talked about this moment when I looked at myself and asked, you know, do I still want to be traveling in this phase of my life or not, and something really just rose up for me from within that was so clearly a yes, like a full body yes. And what's already been kind of quietly brewing in the background, just as a quick recap, is a close girlfriend and I had been talking since kind of late 2024 about finally doing like a big trip, we need to go somewhere, we need to go on a big trip. It's kind of what we were saying, and we set the date out back then in spring of 2026 because it kind of felt like a safe distance away. We could think about it a little, feel into the energy, kind of see what was rising up, save a little, take some time to really plan it out, and here we are. I can hardly believe that it is actually here. This episode is going to actually release the day that we are flying out and starting our journey out of LA. So, you will be listening to this just as I'm sending off, like literally, for the trip, so my gosh, my voice is so froggy. I've been talking a lot and doing a lot, and some of you might also know that I do have a dear friend, friend of the pod, who actually lives in Bali, Kelly, SoCal Medium, and let me tell you, when someone who lives where you're going can help with the itinerary. Things really shift. I had started the outline of the trip and what I thought we were going to do, and started researching the hotels, and very reasonable plan. And then I sent it to her, because she was like, send me what you're thinking about, and she really just kind of reordered things and was like, okay. Need to start here, and then we'll talk about it, but there's a segment that she's like, you could leave this off, so she gave some really wonderful guidance as to where to start, you know, kind of the direction to go, and she definitely was right in the overall planning, and even in the energy and the astrology, as we talk about it, you'll see how everything just seems to be lining up serendipitously now. I'm sure there's gonna be some bumps and delays, and you know, side adventures on the road, but it is interesting to feel that pull of things lining up, and I think I might have mentioned this before, but my travel companion and I, Tara, will be recording a full recap episode together when we get back, just like I did after the New York episode, for those of you that listen to that, so you'll get the whole story then. But today I want to bring you in right at the beginning, before we go, as we're leaving, because I want you to feel a part of this, like as we're starting it, and I'm hoping to create some things while I'm there to share when I get back, or at least be inspired too. So, let me tell you a little bit about what I'm actually going for, while we're there. My intentions kind of at a soul level, not just at a travel and adventure level. But first, I just want to quickly mention, like I said before, when I was thinking about creating this episode. I was like, I wonder what that episode will be. Yes, I did a lot of research into the places that we're staying and the route that we're taking, and what to wear, and the sunscreen, and the, I mean, every bit of it, the eSIM that I'm going to need to be able to use data and Wi-Fi out and about, like all of those travel elements I'm thinking about that just as I'm recording this, I have some some headphones that are supposed to be arriving that are noise canceling, which I've never had before. So I was thinking, like, we don't really do a lot of, like, we're not a travel channel here, so I don't know that you guys need to hear about that part of the journey. You're all very wise adults on your own, and I'm sure do your own travel research. So, when I really, over these last couple weeks, was like, okay, well, we're getting closer. I want to wait till we're very close to the end date for the trip to record this, so I can give you like the most up-to-date where I'm at and what I've done. And, of course, in these last couple days, I'm doing all these last little bits, and still seeing clients, and I have the last class of the month for my students tonight, as I'm recording this, and, and you know, bits and things, and laundry, and cleaning, and, and the business of it all, but I really wanted to make sure I could get this to you as we were leaving, and instead I want to, like I was saying, share my intentions for the trip with you, because maybe I have a bit of a different perspective just at this phase in my life, and certainly with the spiritual side of me, maybe I'm thinking about things a little differently, and then this really fun aspect came up where Tara did some kind of astrology and looking at the map as it relates to the astrology, so then this episode just kind of shaped up on its own, and that's how we got where we are. And so I just want to let you know it's not going to be travel tips and tricks, unless you guys want that at some point, but this really is going to be more about what I'm planning for the experience, the vibe, what the astrology is lining up to be as we're going, and how you can kind of look at these things for yourself for your travel with little tidbits of Bali and what we might do or see or feel kind of woven in, so at a soul level I'm going for way more than just travel as part of my intention. My intention is really simple and I want to say it really simply, I just want to show up, I want to feel it, I want to take it all in. I want to be present with the vibration and the magic of the island, while still being respectful and curious, and honoring, you know, of course, the local culture and customs and people and land, and just be in the experience as a guest of the energy of the island, so that's more or less it. No real firm agenda going into this trip, no checklist, just be present. This is for travel, for bigger travel, kind of the way I like to do it. To be honest with you, when I'm thinking about the other trips I've taken, there's something actually a little funny, that is coming for me specifically. I received some very clear guidance, like a spiritual message, as part of my preparation for this trip. So typically the way I do the travel piece of it itself is depending on, like, if we're going to be in certain cities or with certain family members, you know, case by case basis, I don't necessarily like to have a very stressful, hard itinerary. If I can help it, I like to just have a list of stuff available in that area that we're going to be in case, you know, we want to schedule our day, or kind of look at it while we're there. Restaurants that have some decent reviews, or that someone's. Recommended, just in case we want to try, just as a couple cursory options. I do feel like often when I'm somewhere, the times that I've gotten, you know, forked, been fortunate enough to get to travel, the people that I meet there, or that I'm there visiting, often have like the best suggestions, so I like to leave a lot of spaciousness for that. Plus, I have learned many years ago that there's always pivots or shifts or weather or unforeseen circumstances that can come up, so in general that's how I like to do it, but this trip I was like, oh, maybe I'll do it a little differently, because there, I mean, Bali is known as the island of the gods, there is this spiritual energy that is quintessentially Bali, so I keep hearing, and there are these amazing Hindu temples everywhere, and I was thinking, like, oh, maybe I'll research a little more, maybe I'll do area by area, but then I'll go into the specific temples, I'll learn about who they represent and what the energy is there and what the offerings are for there, and just really deep dive it for myself, and then as I was in meditation one day, it really just hit me, because the weird thing was I was resisting doing the research, and I was excited about it, but I just kept resisting doing it, and I was like, that's weird, and so when I was in meditation next time, it just came to my awareness experience first, research after which is normally how I do spiritual experiences. If you've been a member of the Spirit Squad here in the pod for a long time, you will remember that at the place I used to live before this place a few years ago I even did an experience with an indigenous person who had been part of the land that I was living on, and didn't you know, pre-research it. I always research after I have the experience, and then I do the research after, because I like to see what I feel, and I don't want any like preconceived notions or a power of suggestion. This is how I've been since, I mean, I even think back to when I first started wanting to understand Reiki. The first person that gave me a Reiki session, what I said to her was, "Don't tell me anything, I just want to have the experience and tell you what I'm seeing and feeling, because I would see and feel things with massage therapy, and then you tell me how that makes sense for Reiki, because I wanted to, like, really know that I was having the experience, so it was kind of funny. I was like chuckling to myself, and I'm of course trusting my intuition here, because it's like really the way I like to do it, and I was like, oh duh, yeah, experience first research after, but somewhere, you know, along the way I had gotten the idea to maybe do a little different research, and kind of spirit my soul kind of gently tapped me on the shoulder there, and was like, um, no, go first, have the experience, let the island or the individual temple speak directly to you, slow down, you can make notes about the experiences, and research can come later, so that is what I'm doing. I'm going in pretty open. I'm going in totally light. I do have some ideas of some places we might see as far as temples, but very little actual research on them specifically. So we do have a few things on our itinerary that are genuinely set in stone, more or less, I'm so excited about them. We have pre-scheduled an appointment with a traditional Balinese healer, which my dear friend Kelly, the one who lives in Bali, personally recommended. She said he's an incredible traditional healer there, and we had to schedule a good amount ahead, like that was the first thing that we even, I think, even before we booked the hotels, I think we booked this healer because apparently lots of things are loosey goosey in Bali, but healers and accommodations and a couple things like that you have to book way in advance, is what I've heard. So we are really excited about that. That's already scheduled, and I cannot wait to report back to you about it. Kel is also probably helping to orchestrate something called Kelamoot, I think, is what it's called, which is a traditional kind of water clearing blessing ceremony that you are supposed to do. Mellow cat is what it's called, a sacred water blessing purification ceremony that's deeply woven into their tradition there, and she was like, 'Oh, you're gonna need to do that traditionally within, you know, as soon as possible before your arrival, within like the first day or two. So I think she is organizing that. If not, we will find someone to do it while we're there, but she knows some local practitioners there who do these beautiful private water ceremonies, and I don't think Cal mind me telling you, but she's a Libra, if you know anything about Libras and hosting, orchestrating beautiful experiences, making sure everyone is taken care of, and looked after, that is genuinely one of her superpowers. So we are so lucky to get to have her on this trip. I think she might actually be. With us for part of the time, which will be so fun, because who knows what type of mystical experiences we will get to have together, and one of the other things that we do have on our hoping to see list is kind of at the beginning of our trip, it's something called Tanna Lot, which is one of the seven sacred temples, it's a sea temple, and it is so beautiful. When the tide comes in, the way this temple is sitting on top of a rock, kind of a bit from the shore. The tide comes in, and it looks like it is just floating on the sea. It is really incredible. And at low tide at this temple, you can walk across, because the tide's low, there's rocks that are there, and you walk across to the temple, and there are these sacred snakes that are said to guard the temple, which I don't need to see. There is also, I think, at certain times of day, during the low tide, there is a blessing you can receive from the priests of that temple, like a traditional Balinese blessing, and you can't go up to the temple itself, because it is a working.. what's the way to say it? It's not working right. It's like a practicing active temple with the local Balinese people. That's one of the temples that they do offerings and prayer at. So, you can't go into certain aspects of temples that are active, kind of the inner sanctum part of the temples, so we won't be able to go up in there, but I'm really excited to see it. Hopefully, we'll get to be there at low tide, if we can orchestrate it right. And there is a really incredible, like, shopping area right there with local craftspeople and arts and things, so excited to see that on our list. And we really do have like a loose list of things we'd like to experience, a spa, maybe we'll get you like a little sound healing or something, maybe we will see some of the other temples, the rice terraces for sure are famous, there's amazing, really fresh food there, very little set in stone beyond the things we sort of know we want to do, there's also, as part of this, a very intentional kind of hard pass list, like things that we both, Tara and I, like, do not want to do while we're there. We both don't feel like we need to go into the monkey forest. Now, it's no disrespect against the monkey forest. I think it's beautiful and incredible, and I've actually watched a lot of Professor YouTube, and seen so much inside of that jungle area where these temples are in the monkey forest. It's beautiful, but the monkeys are aggressive there, and I just, to be quite honest, I want no part of it. I'm not trying to fight no monkeys, you guys, and I respect the island and the nature that lives there, and so I don't want to go into their habitat because I feel like you're in their habitat, like whatever happens happens, right, and people get bit, and I just want no part of it. So that's a no for us. We are, I'll tell you about it when I take you through the segments like that. We're staying, but we are staying at one area that is kind of right, right in, not in the jungle, but like adjacent to the jungle, which most things are in this one area, and for me, I'll probably talk about it again later in the episode, but for me, it's like it's all the same land, so I don't feel like I need to be properly inside that forest to feel the energy of the land there, but you know, besides that, what else are we not doing? No, like they have these crazy quad expeditions that you could do. I don't want to do that. There is like a three hour steep dark hike up Mount Batur, which is like at the volcano there, I believe, where I don't want to do that. So there's just a few things that it's like, oh, that's too much. I'm not trying to like have that type of trip. I want it to be very relaxed and easy and beautiful, nothing that doesn't feel aligned, kind of. You get to choose your own adventure, and to be quite honest, I'm also okay if, like, the other two gals want to go do some things that I just don't want to do. That's fine, I'm fine to have my alone time, and everywhere that will be will be so beautiful that I think just kind of sitting there with a tea or a coffee would be perfectly fine with me, and I had to tell you, like, honestly, the emotional truth for me about this trip - I am so excited for all of it, the island, the people, the culture, the beauty, both like the natural and the man-made, and the way that it works together, this spiritual energy that's famous there, the food, just all of it. I'm also a little nervous. I've done the practical research, I've, you know, gotten caught up on my vaccines that I needed. I've done, like, the health prep. I've met with my doctors. I have my little first aid kit, right? I've done the sensible things, and we have been planning for this trip for a while, so I'm very apprised of I feel like the hotels and places that we're staying, and you know, both of those things are completely true at the same time. I'm excited and aware of the unknown, and aware that, you know, there is also a wild energy to the island, and I heard one YouTuber. Say they're like a person expat that moved to Bali, and they said over the years they had been there that they learned you don't live on the island, you live with the island, and they were saying it as they were collecting lizards from their living room to like release back outside, so you know who knows what's gonna happen. Maybe I need to start a Jubanji bingo card. What do you think? So the other thing I want to share before I take you through these areas and the astrology and astrocartology of it all is that I've, in my meditations, been doing something that just kind of felt like the right thing to do to prepare recently. When I'm in there, I'm just spending a few minutes, sometimes a little more than that, depending how I feel that day, just saying hello to the soul of Bali herself, the energy and the spirit of the island, just kind of energetically introducing myself, letting her know I'm so grateful to be coming, asking to be received with grace, promising to tread lightly on the land, I felt it just, I don't know, more right than maybe any amount of that research that I got to skip could have done. So energetically it just already is starting to feel wonderful and right. And when I was thinking about this episode, I was like, oh, you know, it kind of feels like going to get to finally go meet a pen pal is kind of how it feels, because I have been touching in with the energy of the island for, you know, for a couple weeks now, so it does seem like, you know, and I've watched so many all of the YouTube, so it really does feel like getting to go meet a pen pal that I kind of already know a little bit in some ways, so I really think that's going to be super interesting. Now I want to share something that I think is really beautiful and unique layer to this trip, and this is a big thank you to Tara, who is my travel companion, who is coming with me from home, and we're actually going to go together, if you have been with me for a while, you would recognize her, because she is my friend that I was doing a lot of Disney days with. So, that is Tara, and she's the one that will come on, hopefully, after the pod, after we get back to the pod, and do the recap with me, and tell you all about our trip. So, I just am so grateful to her, because she did something so special this weekend. She actually looked at the astrology and the astro cartography for both of us, specifically for these dates, and what came back was so personal and interesting, and some of it very validating about what I've been feeling about the energy of these different areas already, and I want to share it with you, the pieces that felt meaningful, just as we go through this next segment, too, because I think it's really interesting, kind of the heads up that we can have about it all, and it might be a fun layer for you to add into some of your kind of upcoming trips or staycations, if you will. So, I'll share a little bit about what the astrology of it all has for us. I'm going to go into mine and hers, and then I kind of will touch into it throughout the rest of the episode. So, for me, over the span of our trip, the sky in relationship to my own chart for this exact trip really points to something that feels like such a strong potential for profound, like renewal of self, almost like not quite leveling up, but like an expansion, maybe, is how I was reading it. There's a really major long cycle planet, and very close conversation with my son right now, and my son is kind of, you know, obviously the core of who we are, our identity, our life force, our purpose. I won't bore you with the specific astrology. I am a zero degree sun, which means I am really trailing the energy of my rising or my ascendant, and you know, we all have, I know a lot of people poo poo astrology, but it is so specific when you really get into the longer versions of our own chart, beyond what we see in, like, the horoscopes and things, right, and how it relates to things like this travel time periods where we have important events or meetings, or yeah, travel, so it's really interesting that as part of this energy, I was talking about this aspect, right? It's in conversation with my son. The energy is really aligned for the way I would describe it, kind of an emergence, a possibility of like shedding an old layer and really stepping more fully into maybe who I am, maybe who I'm living into next, as I guess maybe a running theme of this trip, so we will see. It's not like a crisis, it's not something bad, and I don't actually think there are, you know, bad astrological aspects, so to speak, but it really just feels like it's gonna be.. I don't know, I don't know how strong or gentle or on top or underneath it'll be, but it does. Feel like a shift might be happening, so we will see, and the astro cartography, which we're going to go into a little bit later. The way that my astrology on the map kind of lines up for this area really points towards things like abundance and beauty and magnetic connection to this land, and feeling like genuinely recognized it feels like more than a coincidence. So, it's so interesting what the astro cartography and what the actual astrology is pointing to for this specific trip in this specific time. There's also a really strong potential for me, for my intuition and emotional sensitivity to be especially heightened during this trip, which my guess would be the double-edged sword that it sounds like, so I'll have to be aware of my emotions, particularly during this one segment that I'm going to tell you about, where we'll be in, like, near the jungle that I was mentioning, the energy is really aligned, it seems, for me, for receiving, which could be like in meditation, it could be in ceremony, it could be in quiet moments, or just, yeah, who knows, that I might not fully even understand, like in the moment, which is often how it is, right, until I process, until I get home later, and I'm also making peace with that right now, because I do, you know, we all like our answers, right? I'm also aware that Saturn, the teacher, is present for me during these old these states, which Saturn is an old friend in my chart that's been with me like really my whole life in different aspects, and the energy there just seems to say, like, do the real work while you're there. I'm going to talk about a day of quiet that we are probably going to have while we're there, that's just for us. So it's kind of like, don't be a tourist in your spiritual life, really do the work, feel the feelings, and be present for the experience seems to be the message for me now. For Tara, without going into all her specific aspects, the energy is really aligned around her chart during this trip, and it points to the possibility of something like genuinely deep and transformative for her, which is really cool. There's a strong potential for things that have been kind of held back or within for a long time to finally have space to release for her, and the energy is set up in such a beautiful way for these dates, so that there's opportunity for old patterns to, you know, kind of be shed as well around like love and self worth, and what she gets to shift, and it gets to feel the most supported way possible for her, hopefully, is how it looks, and at the same time, there's this really expansive, abundant energy moving through all the parts of her chart actually that really tie into her kind of long-term, long-held foundations, meaning things she's been kind of potentially building and investing in. In quiet, it might be the beginning of a new opening in new ways, which I am so excited about for her, a kind of a door she's been standing at for potentially a while might be opening differently for her as part of the energy for the trip, so and you know we might both be moving through our individual layers of this energy, but what feels equally true and so exciting is that there's a real potential for both of us to experience something kind of genuinely transformative and really inspirational together. The energy supports like not just individual growth but also a shared discovery and connection, and we're traveling together for a reason. Obviously, I think we are both going to come home different in the most beautiful ways possible. So, there are so many intentions, I guess, while at the same time kind of loosely holding open my heart for the experience, presence, openness, of course, respect, trust, trusting whatever the island has for each of us, both of us together, and of course with our third friend Kel. I always love getting to spend time with her, she and I have had some amazing experiences together over the years, and I feel really blessed and lucky for any time that we get to have her with us on the trip, so you know we are gonna receive exactly what we need, and I think both of us are ready, so before I really dive all the way into this next segment that I want to get into with you, I want to just briefly give a quick explanation of what astrocartography is. It sounds complicated in the name, right? Astro cartography - it's like, oh my gosh, what is that? It's actually really beautiful and really simple once you understand it. The other thing that I'm not going to share as part of the non-packing stuff that I'm not going to share. I'm drinking some electrolytes to prepare for the trip, like I said. This is only, I think we're about like four or five days ahead right now. I've got some electrolytes, I've been already starting to drink them. I needed to try some new packs. I tend to not love a lot of. I don't know, I don't like a lot of the things you mix in your drinks and all that kind of stuff, but I've also discovered I'm watering it half down. This one's pretty tasty, so if you see me in the video version sipping on my water, that is what is in there, water with some electrolytes. Let's give a definition of astro cartography. It's essentially the astrology of places, it takes your birth chart, right, the exact alignment of stars and planets and energies at the exact moment you were born, and it really takes also, like, overlays, you know, that map of the sky when you were born, your personal chart over the map of the world, and it shows lines, kind of on, you know, when you do the reading of it, there's lines. I think all astrology has lots of lines in the readings, and the way it lines up with the map basically shows where your specific planetary energies are most alive or most activated for you personally. Some places in the astro cartography, like as it relates to your personal chart, some places might feel like they light you up, some places might challenge you, some kind of activate very specific themes in your life around love or career or purpose or creativity or healing, or all kinds of things. I think it, it like, I kind of try to think of it as like your soul that came into this body and this world at this time having its own personal relationship with the geography of the earth. Right, I am always more and more amazed over the years how layered I think our human experience is, and how many different energies are at play at all times, and it's like, oh yeah, we're all these unique individuals, why wouldn't our energies also have energetic relationship with different places in the world, right? Just makes so much sense to me. So, astro cartography is essentially the reading of that, and the really fun part is that every person's map is completely different, and the same places can feel entirely different to two different people, because they're the lines of their astrocard, astro cartography, astrocartological map, whatever it would be, they're all different, right? So, Tara, she is much better at astrology than me. You guys know, I dabble personally, I don't do it professionally. She is much more knowledgeable than me in astrology across the board, so she had this idea to look it up for both of us, the astrology and the astro cartography for the specific dates and the specific locations that we are traveling to, and honestly, the results were so interesting that I had to share them with you, so let me start with Tara, because her chart for Bali genuinely like took my breath away. For Tara, the way that it shows up on her map for her specific astrological placement, Bali really activates this Neptune energy for her, and Venus is also very strong for her in Bali, and what that means in just plain language, without getting too deep into the astrology of it all, is that there's a really strong potential for Bali to feel almost like custom made for her soul right now. Neptune tends to be very watery and mysterious and emotional, and that line points towards deep spiritual and mystical possible experiences for her. Here, time might feel like it moves differently for her. Synchronicities could be everywhere. She could really find herself unusually open to the unseen world in a way she typically doesn't always experience at home. And knowing her, she's quite sensitive and gifted, and is a master healer in her own right. So I'm excited to see what this means in the reality for her, right? So she might really experience like Bali's spiritual richness, the ceremonies, the temples, the offerings that are in every corner of your day, she might really feel like this experience is specifically made for her in some synchronistic way. This Venus line is even more personal for her. It's, it's considered, in the way it is in her chart, the very like foundation of the soul, and having Venus, the planet of love and beauty, right there for her in her map, geographically for this area of Bali, it is really gonna make her potentially feel wrapped in kind of Bali's innermost beauty, and there's a real potential for like deep nourishment for her here as part of this expansion, and this is such a powerful placement for the possibility of really just, you know, finalizing this, maybe too finite of a word, but like really healing old wounds, and she honestly might find herself feeling like Bali is home in a way that even surprises her. So I'm so excited for that piece. It she also has a moon line and a Jupiter line that have an active point towards the possibility of deep, meaningful emotional connections with the people she meets in Bali, specifically in Bali. So this could be like nurturing, intuitive people who might help her feel really seen, or who might she might get to share her gifts with she's very gifted, like I mentioned, and an expansion through these connections and relationships that could really bring abundance or joy and happiness to her. And then she also has a Pluto touching in as well, which adds intensity, not dark, but like a deep intensity for her, so this can also help old things that are not aligned for her kind of transform. Think of it as like a depth that sometimes we have to go to to have that transformation, and with all of that, like Neptune and Venus of it all, this really might be quite, quite an active time for her. This tends to move towards like a real spiritual metamorphosis with all of these mixed together, rather than like a, an upheaval, it might feel like an expansion in the leveling up for her, so something really real might be shifting for her on this trip. I can already feel it. I'm so excited. Of course, we will report back, so that is how her personal astrology lines up with the map of, like, Bali itself, and specifically where we're going. So, for me, my astro cartography showed Bali as what I can only describe as, like, a genuinely fortunate combination. For me, it's a little bit rare. It seems like I have also a Venus aspect there, and a Jupiter different aspect in midhaven line, and together those are considered a very like lucky, auspicious potential combination for this specific place. So, in very plain language, there's a strong potential for Bali to make me feel kind of unusually magnetic, or deeply connected, or very like overwhelmed with love, and I could have the potential to feel like my absolute best self, who doesn't want that, right? So Jupiter, here for me, is considered a real strong potential for spiritual expansion, and the possibility of feeling almost like maybe recognizing my own gifts to a deeper level, which I'm so here for, like kind of like what you're doing here in the world can be supported differently, maybe. So I'm excited to see like what possibilities come to my awareness while I'm there, and I really feel like as part of this energy there's the possibility to deepen my own practices, or to feel more aligned, the energy is really set up for opportunity and synchronicity to kind of appear organically, which is super exciting. I also have a moon line, which is sometimes called the home away from home line, apparently, and one of the most comforting placements possible, it seems. So, there's real possibility that I might also feel kind of instinctively at ease in Bali, which I'm hoping for, like I belong there, even though I've never been there. Who doesn't like that? It might feel really emotionally secure and nourishing for me. Rest and healing are supported, of course. I have a mercury, a mercury line that suggests that like conversation and connection and communication might be unusually deep and meaningful there, and I might also encounter teachers or guides, or a kind of unusual fellow travelers who significantly expand my inspiration or my thinking in some way, which I'm very excited about, and of course we are going to see that traditional Balinese healer, so I'm also hoping to participate in some various sacred ceremonies and things, so all of that feels very aligned and alive for me right now. I do have one line that adds kind of like a note of seriousness, Saturn, which I mentioned earlier, the teacher, for those of you that don't know, so for me Saturn really is also a prominent feature here for me in Bali, as it relates to my like map, like we were talking about, so for some people Saturn can feel kind of like a heavy energy, but it's also deeply productive. It's discipline, maturity, karmic lessons. The teacher, for me, this might make me feel like more reflective or introspective than usual. I might be come off more serious. I might need to like pull back and not over schedule, which is so interesting, because clearly we're having a loosey goosey itinerary, and the truth is Saturn is a very familiar energy to me, like I said, it's been here my whole life, making sure that I do the work which I definitely want to do, so one of the most beautiful things about the way this is lining up for Tara and I traveling together is that our lines. Both really point towards kind of genuinely different versions of these internal experiences for us. She might be moving, you know, with all of her Neptune energy into kind of like surrender and mystical and open and dreamy like feelings, and all of this transformation at a deep level. I might be moving into kind of this like expansive, magnetic, spiritually abundant area of my experience, and underneath those individual layers, there's also this very real potential for both of us to be moving through something genuinely transformative and really inspirational together, so you know this energy supports not just individual growth but growth together for a reason, so we might come home changed in our own ways and also changed by what we experience together, so if you want to look up your own astro cartography for any upcoming travel or for places you're thinking about moving or for just yourself to see where you, where your lines are versus like where you grow up and where you live. It's really fun. I will leave a link in the show notes, so that you can kind of play with it if you feel like it. Just a fun summer activity for yourself, so you just will enter your birthday and time and location, and it prompts you, and then you can really start exploring, and once you kind of see how these things connect and relate it to your own life, you really, it's kind of one of those things you like can't unsee once you've seen it. So, luckily ours looks lovely for Bali, for both of us, which is so exciting, and yeah, just feels like perfect timing. So the last thing I want to do, while I have you, before I leave you with something to think about, is I want to just briefly walk you through these four areas that we're gonna move through, because on the post kind of download trip episode after we get back, I will really tell you how I experienced these areas, and we'll talk more about, you know, what, what the spiritual aspects actually are from my perspective, and, and all the things. So, I want to take you through these four areas that we're moving through, and I want to share kind of what I understand to be like the vibe of each part, part of the places that we're going to be in, and I'm going to keep it kind of general, because we are going to get the full detailed itinerary and everything when I get back, and I'm also going to give the astrology - like, what is the astrology saying for these different segments now that you understand the astro cartography and our intentions, and what it's going to mean for us as individual souls to be at this specific location. Let's talk about the locations a little bit, and the actual astrology for those days. Okay, so we are landing, we're losing a couple days in travel, we're landing, and then we're going for the first couple days to I'm calling it the west part, but it's not technically the west side of the island, it's part, it's kind of like the West Beach area, so it's a little more villagey, it's a little more kind of sleepy beach town area towards like the western segment that we're gonna be in, and I think we're not too far from where Kelly lives, so we might get to see her a bit in this first couple days, which would be cool, and when we arrive, we, it's because it's going to be like more quieter, more local part. We can still access the stuff, the restaurants and the shopping and the things, but we're, we're not right in the heart of that. We're kind of set a little out of that, which I'm excited about. So we're going to kind of ease into the island rather than just landing in the middle of everything, and beginning here with someone who actually lives there, I think, is going to be super helpful, and it feels like such a gift. So, it's wonderful to know that we're probably going to get to see Kelly within the first couple days when we are there. This is hopefully where we'll also get to do that Melloca water blessing. It's a sacred purification ceremony that is really part of Balinese culture. Kelly mentioned it to me, I was like, "Oh, you're gonna need to do this, you know, upon arrival within the first couple days, and I've also seen some, some other teachings about that, so I don't have a deep dive to, like I said, deep dove it, but I do know that that's a private ceremony, and it's supposed to be kind of clearing away the old and really just aligning yourself with the energy of Bali, and yeah, making some offerings to the island, I'm sure. So, hopefully we will get that orchestrated, and you know, Cal might know someone, so hopefully, you know, we'll see if that works out. Otherwise, I'm sure it'll work out in some other way. If that happens here, that's wonderful. If not, it might find us a little bit later, but that is where that Sacred Sea Temple Tana Lot is. That's kind of in that general area, I think it's maybe like 30 minutes away, ish. But I don't have a super great understanding yet of like how long it takes to get places there. I'm just going off maps and. What other people are saying, and things, and again, this is one of the seven sacred temples, so it really does look dramatic and beautiful. Some people say to go at sunset, lots of people say to try to go at low tides. You can get that blessing I was telling you about, but it is really one of Bali's kind of iconic sites, and Tara definitely has it on her must-see list. I'm also excited to see it, and I'm very excited about the little art stalls over there, so that is going to be really fun. I make zero apologies that I am going to bring an extra empty bag to bring back with me all the things. So, interestingly, from an astrological standpoint, the energy during these first few days is kind of still, and not a lot happening, and genuinely like supportive during those first couple days. Planets are moving direct, meaning that there's no friction or strife happening in the planetary alignments for those first couple days. The sky is essentially saying what our
itinerary already says:arrive, rest, you know, let yourself land and be open, and then the island kind of begins to speak to us, hopefully during that phase, through like this feeling of exhale and ease and soft landing. So maybe based on the astro cartography, this is where we will start feeling some version of familiarity with the with the island even before we really had a chance to get to know her, so that will be just the first couple days, just to have an ease and transition, because we are kind of getting in in the evening, and then between like baggage and customs and transportation to from the airport to where we're going. I don't know exactly what time, honestly, we're even gonna get there. And again, I'm available that things might flux. So, so after those first couple days, we're gonna make our way from that beach area to this jungle valley, which is it's not in the north of the island, but it's more towards the center, you go north for where we are, but more towards the center. It's kind of near Ubud, if you know Bali at all. It's a very famous spiritual center for them, but it is in the heart of, like, the jungle and the.. I think it's the Scion Valley. There, we are not staying in the heart of that town, because it's kind of bustly and very busy with lots of things to do, but that whole area is part of what would be considered the most sacred energy of the island. So, we're going to be nestled back. I want to say it's like maybe 20 or 30 minutes from the center of town, but I don't actually know. So, we'll update on that, but we'll be back more like in the jungle, and in the valley part of it, and Ubud has, like, the most incredible artistry, and that's where the loom weavers are, kind of in the surrounding villages and areas out there. There are a billion cafes that look amazing, and so cool, and quintessentially decorated, and rice terraces are accessible, and there are beautiful temples not far from there. We might even do, like, a couple spa days. They're kind of famous for their spas and treatments and things, maybe sound healing, whatever kind of calls to us on any given day. This is again another area that I have sort of a collection of, like maybe here, maybe there. This place, for sure, for sure, has something gluten-free, which Kelly also says they're pretty good at that over there, and I'm fairly good at, like, finding stuff wherever I go in this area. And this segment of the trip is also towards the latter part of it, when our healer appointment is, which I'm so excited about. It's on a different resort that this healer sometimes works and teaches at, and so they happen to be there at this time period, and so we were able to orchestrate this off Kelly's Rec, which, like I said, she's always got the best recommendations, and it's one of the only things that we have as, like, a locked and solid, like, quote unquote, appointment on our trip. So I am so ready for it. I don't, I did no research, I just went off Kelly's wreck. I don't know exactly what happens in a traditional Balinese healing session. I would guess that it is some manipulation, like massage or acupressure, or movement of the limbs, and like a Thai massage kind of a style, a little bit, and I would guess that it is some energy healing having to do with the centers and organs and things, but I don't know, guys, I kind of have no idea. Tara and I are both doing a separate appointment with this master healer, and then, because it's on a resort, I'm sure we'll just kind of chill in the pool area, have some lunch. I don't know if Kel is going to make it with us that day or not, so we will just go with the flow, and I, as a heads up, we'll see what happens, but I tend to be quite sensitive to healings of all kinds, whether it's massage or energy healing, meaning it just either makes me really tired or I tend to feel physical effects from whatever is done, I'm not even. Saying, like, in a bad way, but so after this, like, I might be done for the day. We'll just have to see, and I want to say those appointments are like noon-ish, whatever they had available. I was so grateful to have, so that is, that's what's happening with that. So we're pretty excited about that piece of it, like I said, we're not going into the monkey forest. I deeply honor that the land is all connected, and where we're staying, like it's right next to the jungle, so that land is still jungle land. I definitely intend to meditate in these different areas and see if I can feel the energy of the land and the island in those areas, because just like in any place or country, right, like in the United States or in Canada, the different provinces in Canada, the different states here, they have a different vibrational energy of that land. So I'm very curious to feel, you know, the jungle versus the temple areas versus the more bustly kind of places, and there's these beautiful small offerings of like flowers and sometimes money and sometimes sweets like everywhere, so that will be incredible to see. I have a feeling you just might be able to feel almost the energy of the spirit of the people as well. So I think we are going to get plenty of that in Ubud. This is the longest stretch of our trip, and the way they booked the hotel, or the resort, or whatever you would call it, the accommodation, we got a balcony, or like a patio, I'm not sure exactly what it will be as part of our room, and I am so here for that, because that's where I could see myself, you know, journaling, making some notes, doing meditations, maybe we'll have brekkie out there, I don't know, so I'm excited about that piece of it, and there are some really significant temples in this area, too. Kelly mentioned there might be some good readers there, so who knows, maybe I'll get a reading. I am open for whatever it has for us there, and there are so many beautiful art markets and artisans and people there that do you know jewelry and sculpture and painting and loom weaving and basket weaving and clothing and all the things, so again I'm bringing an empty bag, so I can bring some lovelies home with me for myself and others, so we will see what that holds. I'm really excited about that. The astrology during this portion of the trip, which kind of takes us into the beginning of June, is where it gets really interesting and starts to get really aligned, so we come in in that gentle energy, right? And then it's almost like it aligns more, and like I see it as like clicking in, click, click, click, click, like as we kind of move through the trip, the energy clicks in even more. It's this Mercury into Cancer, and right as we arrive into this area, the collect collective energy is moving towards emotional and intuitive, and feeling, you know, everything like feeling-based instead of logical mind, kind of that Cancerian energy we're moving towards, so kind of less logical, more sensing, open-hearted, more receiving, so for us going to a traditional healer and hoping to experience like sacred ceremonies and temples and energy, this alignment and energy couldn't be more supportive, so our intuition might possibly be heightened, the veil might feel thinner based on what the astrology is saying, and Mercury really has to do with communication, and so a little bit travel, so again we'll just be aware of going with the flow, and Neptune really can also be this planet of mysticism and spiritual sensitivity, so that is part of the vibe for sure. There's also a really strong potential for these days in this Ubud Cyan Valley to be more spiritually charged than other days on this trip, so that's an interesting alignment too. The energy is genuinely aligned for, like, receiving, like I said, whether it's in meditation or ceremony, there's some traditional Balinese dance there that I'd love to get to witness and experience, and that is also receiving right, receiving someone's performance, even if you're with a large group of people, so it could be little conversations, little inspiration, it could be just absorbing all the artistry, and who knows what this healer is going to say. I'm so excited to see, maybe you know, who knows what's gonna happen. I'm planning to like go slow and stay open and definitely take notes for you guys after our several days in this area. Then we shift and go further east, so we stay kind of at that mid level of the island, and then we're just moving to the east side of the island. This is really interesting too, because when I did the initial, like, where are we going to go, and the itinerary, it was me that picked spending a couple days on the east side of the island. Now, when I had presented, remember, at the beginning, I was telling you, I showed Kel the itinerary, and she's like, this is backwards, you should, like, you need to, like, I would suggest orienting this differently. Is basically what she said, very sweet, lovingly. So she was like, you don't have to do this segment, there's really not a lot over there in the East, like it's mostly villages, and it's very rural, and you're probably going to be bored, is kind of what she said in a very kind way, but it's like a more sleepy area, but my soul just kept saying yes every single time, like, I consider taking it off the list. Tara and I talked about it, but I was like, I just want to go there. So, there are some temples over there, but you can access them from other areas. Oh, and I forgot to mention, in the Ubud area is where there are some really famous rice terraces, with if you've seen only one or two things of Bali, you probably have seen this really famous swing where the girls, or I mean, I guess anyone could wear the dress, but there's these colorful, like very flowy dresses, and they swing you out on these swings over these rice terraces that are often very green. I don't even know where it will be in the harvest when we get there, so who knows. That is also on our must-see list. It's a cafe, you can tour the rice terraces. There's a pool, there's these swings, you pay a fee, and then you get to enjoy all the things. So, definitely, even though it's touristy, look for that. We're, that's happening, we're doing that. So, there's going to be fun things too. So, then, when we go to the east side, the reason that made me think of that is, like, oh yeah, there's so many rice terraces on the east, all the resorts are in rice terraces, and there are villages over there, and it is much more sleepy. Sure, I'm sure, but I just have had, since we decided that we were going to go to Bali instead of Europe, because that was the other place we were considering in the mix of all this. I just was like, I feel like I need to go to the east side, I feel like I want to go over there, so it just was this persistent nag for me, and what came up as part of the astrology too, which is so fascinating, is that there is a day in there that it is highly advisable for us to not schedule anything, for us to take it slow, have kind of a chill day, which I've been getting this nagging feeling of like, oh, we're gonna spend one of these days like just on this property that we're staying on on this east side, because it's going to be lovely. So apparently that is also in the astrology, and Tara has lovingly reminded me of it two or three times just in the last few days, so I know that she is feeling very strongly like one of those couple days that we're on that east side needs to be very contained and still and present, and yeah, we'll see. So that's very interesting, and the astrology, like, is so supportive of that feeling, and we will just take it easy and see what we feel, and see, and that might be an integration period where all of the experiences that we've had so far are kind of dropping in in a different way, we might be processing in a different way. I will let you know, I am super excited about that. I mean, I'm excited about all of it, but I'm really excited about that part of the trip. Yeah, so that's cool. Oh, like I said, I think that this will be like an integration little segment for us, and you know, get digesting, there's going to be lovely food over there, and it's going to be very calm and easy, so we'll see, you know. Sometimes nothing is exactly what you need. So, after those couple days on the east side of the island, then we go back to sort of central beach area, and we're going to do a beach farewell, and where we are staying, it's not close to the airport, but it seems positioned in a way that it's like kind of a easier route than kind of in the middle of nowhere in the Upper East Side of Bali. It's just more close to the city, so I'm so excited about this as all the areas, but this is where there are those famous Bali beach sunsets and great food, and the beach clubs are kind of in this area, where there's like the pool and the drinks and the music and the fun, and the shopping is over there. We will get to just kind of exhale in this beautiful beach environment. All the resorts are gorgeous, and most of them, if you like, buy like you have lunch or you buy a drink or something, you can just hang out there at their pool. So, so excited to see some of the most beautifully decorated hotels in the world in person, which will be great, and we'll just have a couple restorative days at the beach at the end, and I'm sure we'll take lots of pictures, and all of that deep rest, integration, and kind of ending where we are just steps from the beach really feels like exactly the right closing note, and the astrology really lets me know that this is so synchronistic for this little segment, not only our last days in Bali like kind of perfectly aligned in the astrology, but also even as we're landing back home the day that we arrive, because we've got, you know, you lose days in the travel, and then we're traveling from LA, so we've also got to come home to San Diego, down here, where we live. So, even on the arrival days, the way that Venus and Jupiter line up is all about love and beauty and abundance, so we're, we're trailing that and. Energy from the end of the trip, and then trailing it into the first days when we're home, which is kind of incredible, really, you know, with Jupiter in there, that's the planet of expansion and luck and happiness, and so when those two come together, it's like very lucky, auspicious, right? So the energy is really aligned for love and harmony and warmth and a beautiful send off, and a warm welcome home, which is incredible. And I don't think it's a coincidence that, as it works out in the mix of all the things, that my son is also arriving home to visit the same day that I am arriving home. He actually will beat me here, he gets here in the airport, and I will already be in LA, and need to be coming home that day, so I will be walking off a plane, changed and fully open, and walking straight into getting to see my kiddo, my big grown-up boy, and his wonderful partner, and just have, you know, a fun few days with family, so that'll be amazing. And it seems like the universe planned our homecoming. Even I have no notes. While I'm gone, I just want to leave you with some things to think about. I will be hoping, hopefully trying to pop up on stories and socials, so you can follow along and see what we're seeing, and see all the great food, and the.. I mean, it's just so lush and green and tropical there, and the beach sunset. So I will really, really try to put all of that up in my stories as we go through the trip. So you can find me on social media at Joyful Medium, if you want to see that. And I really just kind of want to give you some things to think about. I'm not the best at posting, you guys, but I will really try to do it. I'm gonna really work hard to give you some photos, because I've been asked by friends and family, and several of you. So I will try my best. But what I'd love for you to just kind of ponder or roll around in the back of your mind is, what's your version of this? It doesn't have to be bally, it doesn't have to be a trip at all. It just, what have you been telling yourself that you want to live into that you just haven't been fully living into lately? What's just one thing, however small, however little in the background, that you could say yes to this week that brings you back to yourself, that reminds you who you are. I'd love it if you would just see what comes up for you while I'm gone. See where you're saying no to things that your body or your soul really is like. Say yes. Just start noticing, of course. Notice any synchronicities or signs, or if you're someone that works with numbers, I've got an exciting numbers episode just coming up soon for you. So I would love to hear all about what's coming up for you as you think about, like, who is it that you want to be next, and are you taking little actions and little ways to live more fully back into yourself? Because when I do get back, I'm gonna have so much to tell you. I hopefully will have some tools for you. You will get to hear all about, you know, the traditional healers and sacred water ceremonies, and the jungle, and the rice terraces, and whatever else we end up experiencing and getting into, and I have a feeling there's going to be just a lot, so I can't wait to share it once I do get back, although I'm hoping the time goes maybe just a little slower than it's been feeling lately, while we're over there, and again, you can find me on social, so you can follow along real time. I would love it if you keep saying hi. There is a crazy time difference from California, I think it's like 16 hours, maybe. So make sure you're checking, because I'm going to be probably posting at very strange times for many of you. So I'm just excited to have you linked with me through the show to be sending energy to you guys during my meditations, which of course I will be, and if, while I'm gone, you are curious about working with me, or having a reading, or learning about mentorship, or anything else, you can still find all of that on the website Joyful medium.com But in the meantime, you guys, I'm going to Bali. I can hardly believe that I am saying that I will see you on the other side, beautiful souls. Big hugs, lots of love. Bye for now, from inside Spirit Studies. Bye.
